Questions

General
What do I need to bring?
  • Food - The cabins are completely self catered. However, you may want to order a few of our delicious locally sourced meal packs. Order these when you book your stay. Check the Extras page to see what we have.
  • A swimming towel if you are planning on swimming in the loch.
  • A torch - the cabins have torches however If you are arriving after dark we advise bringing a torch. We try to minimise light pollution as much as possible so the paths are un lit and it is very dark.
  • An eye mask if you are staying in Alder or Birch. These cabins have floor to ceiling windows and no blinds so if you are light sensitive in the mornings an eye mask is a must!
  • Midge repellent and coils for the summer.
  • Shoes for going in the loch (wetsuit boots are great!)
  • Frying pan for outside cooking. Ours are all induction and do not like being used on open fire.
May I bring my dog?

Yes we are dog friendly and there are some fantastic walks surrounding the cabins. We just ask that you keep them under control on site, pick up any poos and keep them off the beds and furniture.

Can I reschedule or cancel my stay?

More than 8 weeks before arrival:
You have the flexibility to cancel or reschedule your stay. We will issue a full refund, including your deposit, or help you move your dates, whichever you prefer.
Fewer than 8 weeks before arrival:
While a refund cannot be guaranteed, we will try to re-let your cabin. If successful, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit, minus a £50 administration charge.
Bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival:
You benefit from a 48-hour cooling-off period, allowing you to cancel or reschedule for a full refund. This does not apply if the booking is made within 48 hours of check-in.
If something unexpected happens:
If life presents an unforeseen challenge, please contact us. Although we can't promise refunds within 8 weeks of arrival, we will always seek a fair and compassionate solution, including rescheduling options where possible.

Can I drink the water?

Yes you can, it is delicious. Our water is spring fed and it’s delicious. It has gone through a filtration system and is safe to drink. Occasionally it can be a bit brown due to the peat on the hill. We try our hardest to limit single use plastic so if you can please don’t bring bottled water.

Is firewood included?

We provide one generous basket of firewood plus a basket of kindling, matches and firelighters. Extra baskets can be purchased from us for £10 a basket and bags of kindling are sold in various shops in Callander, the cheapest being Tesco.
