A peaceful lochside retreat tucked at the quietest end of the site. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood a bright, white-washed interior with astonishing views of Loch Venachar and the surrounding mountains. Alder now has a woodfired hot tub that costs £70 for the duration of your stay.

Tucked away at the furthest, quietest end of the site, Alder is a sanctuary of peace and light. Step into the white-washed interior where the vast, floor-to-ceiling windows offer an astonishing view of the loch, immersing you in the raw beauty of the Scottish landscape.

Designed for utter remoteness, Alder is a wholesome escape, a comfortable base for a small family, or a romantic adventure in the wild where the world melts away beyond your doorstep.

Curl up on the sofa and hear the the wood burner gently crackling. Watch the light shift across the hills or soak in our new hot tub after a refreshing dip in the loch.

We have explored and enjoyed many corners of our Loch Venachar. Our favourite things to do range from wild adventures in the mountains and on the loch, to where to grab a delicious bite to eat nearby.

Eat in Or Out

Order a few delicious meal packs to cook in your cabin. These made by our local deli, The Smiddy. We’ll pop these in your fridge, ready for you to put together and cook when you arrive. Jemima is a professional chef and has approved that these are utterly delicious.

Is there wifi at the cabins

There is yes, we have super fast fibre internet in each cabin.

Is there phone signal?

EE has good signal however everyone else is patchy at best! The cabins all have superfast fibre WiFi.

May I bring my dog?

Yes we are dog friendly and there are some fantastic walks surrounding the cabins. We just ask that you keep them under control on site, pick up any poos and keep them off the beds and furniture.

Can I drink the water?

Yes. Our water is spring fed and it’s delicious. It has gone through a filtration system and is safe to drink. Occasionally it can be a bit brown due to the peat on the hill. We try our hardest to limit single use plastic so if you can, please don’t bring any plastic bottled water.

WHere are the nearest shops

Callander is about a 10 minute drive and it has a small Tesco and bigger Coop. Callander also has a butcher 2 delicious bakeries and lots of coffe shops. The Smiddy is a farm shop in Blair Drummond about 20 minutes from the cabins. The Smiddy champions the best seasonal produce in Stirling and the surrounding area. All their ready meals are made in-house with as much local produce as possible.

Do you provide firewood?

We provide one generous basket of firewood plus a basket of kindling, matches and firelighters. Extra baskets can be purchased from us for £10 a basket and bags of kindling are sold in various shops in Callander, the cheapest being Tesco.
